Chapter 2093 - 2093: Many Voices.

He didn’t believe it so he tried out the power to test it. When he did, the shackles binding him broke easily. It made him smile.

He rose up and crashed into the door of the room he was in. The metal door couldn’t block him. He broke it down and rushed out.

He killed the custodian and the captain. He killed everything that stood in his way until he gained freedom.

But he didn’t stop there. He continued to kill because it made him stronger. He killed until he rose to the top of the world. He became the most powerful person in the world through killing.

It was a great feeling, but Legion didn’t fall for the trick. He snorted inwardly, and the illusion shattered.

The illusion fell apart to reveal that he was still in that dark room. He was still shackled and unable to move.

Those things that he had experienced weren’t real. They were just the things that the divine flesh was saying to him.

After he broke the illusion, he saw what it truly was. It was just voices in his mind painting a false picture. His will was just too strong to be deceived by the divine flesh. He didn’t fall into the temptation of killing.

But those voices didn’t last long either. His innate ability also kicked in and made all the voices whispering in his mind disappear.

Even if he had a weak will, his innate ability, which is adaptability, would make his existence capable of resisting and overcoming the adverse circumstance he was in.

This is why he would always succeed in assimilating the divine flesh. Thanks to adaptability, even the authority of a god would only make him lose his memories, not kill him.

He had officially become a godclad. This meant that he finally had some power and could finally see what was within him.

Every human is a bottle. This is not a random analogy. Bottles are used because humans contain something.

Most of the time, humans contain their souls and consciousness. But after they become godclads, humans also contain divine flesh.

In his case, he used introspection, a technique used to examine one’s state of existence, and discovered that he had twelve souls. That wasn’t surprising. In fact, it was expected.

As he used introspection, he saw a vast darkness within him. Within that darkness were twelve glowing giant statues.

These statues were huge, and they were lifting something above their heads. They each had two arms, which they used to support their burden.

Not all of them were lifting something. Only half of them were lifting something.

Three of them were lifting a golden gem. He recognized this golden gem to be the item that caused him to lose his memories and nearly killed him.

Three other statues were lifting a red ball of flesh. This red ball was squirming and shifting. Unlike the golden gem, it was alive and still resisting. It was just that its resistance was destined to be futile.

The statues were working together to keep the two burdens up in the sky. Three of them were needed to lift each item. If there weren’t three, there would be imbalance, and the burdens would fall down.

Once the burdens fall down through his existence, they would crash down on his existence and cause his existence to collapse. So it is very important that these items are not allowed to fall.

He examined these statues for a long time when one of them said to him, “Are you so free that you have time to waste gawking at us?”

He sneered at the one that complained and said, “What are you complaining about? You’ve had control of the body for so long. Now that I have gained control of the body, I can do whatever I want to do with it.”

Another statue said, “Enjoy your freedom while it lasts. I’m sure you will lose your control when we assimilate another divine flesh.”

Not every statue could talk. Only four of them could talk. Three of them were the ones carrying the divine flesh of killing. The power in the divine flesh has let them regain their consciousness.

The fourth statue that could talk was one of the three statues holding the golden gem. It can be said that he was the original one that inhabited this body before his twelve future versions fused with his existence.

He was the one who used the innate talent of adaptability to fuse with the authority of the undying and created the aspect of independence. He was the one in control of the body ever since his future versions found and fused with him.

He has lost control of his body now, though. Control of the body had gone to the three in charge of the path of killing. They have more spirituality than him because they are now the major source of power for their existence, so they wrestled control of the body away from him.

The three of them are Legion-4, Legion-5, and Legion-6. They have to juggle the control of the body between them. This caused them to argue.

Of course, whichever one gains control of the body doesn’t have anything to do with Legion-1 anymore. He won’t have the opportunity to control the body again until he acquires the divine flesh from the path of undying.

The rest of the statues, which are his souls, are still asleep. They don’t have enough spirituality to maintain their consciousness.

The state of the other eight statues is how normal souls should behave. Even if those souls have enough spirituality to maintain a consciousness, they shouldn’t have one, or it will result in a terrible mental illness like schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder.

There ought to be just one consciousness for every soul, not one consciousness for each soul. They also shouldn’t be fighting each other for control of the body.

Fortunately, these are just consciousnesses without supreme laws. If they had supreme laws, they are most likely to fight to the death for everything, including the control of the body.
