“Are all the flames out?” The dungeon core asked the spider hero unit.

In response, the spider hero unit quickly drew a map with its threads to show the situation.

This spider hero unit just couldn’t talk, so all it could do was draw this map with its webbing. But it turned out that this spider hero unit was quite dextrous in the first place, so it was able to explain everything.

“Find out why these rats have suddenly appeared.” The dungeon core said to the spider hero unit who nodded in response.

After creating a wall of webs that kept the flames at bay, the next thing that the spider hero unit did was naturally take care of the intruders in its webs. Other than its webs, there was something else that the spider hero unit could use as well.

It was a wave of spiders against a wave of flaming rats.

Though when it came down to it, it really seemed like the flaming rats were winning over the spiders. But there were far more spiders than there were flaming rats, so it seemed to be about even with the way that they kept pushing each other back.

However, it was clear that at this rate, the spiders would run out of numbers.

Before that, they had to find the one that was controlling the flaming rats to attack them.

All of a sudden, the spider hero unit felt a disturbance and immediately reported it.

“The rats are gathering in one place? What do you mean by that?” The dungeon cores asked in a shocked voice, but the spider hero unit didn’t know how to answer this. After all, the only thing that the spider hero unit could do was report this matter and didn’t know why they were acting this way.

In the end, the dungeon cores opened up their surveillance system.

With how wide the dungeon was, they couldn’t watch over everything and they had spent most of their DPs on their troops, so the only thing that they could get was something that would be able to watch parts of the dungeon.

They didn’t use it until now since the flaming rats had been coming from all directions.

But now that there was a place where the rats were gathering, naturally that was the place to watch over.

When they did, they found that there were countless rats that were surging forward.

It was hard to believe that there were even this many rats in this one place, but this was just how it was. It was like a large fireball was charging through the corridor, aimed right at the center of this base where they were at.

“Just where did they all come from?” The dungeon cores couldn’t help asking in shocked voices.

The number of rats made it seem like there was some kind of plague happening.

No matter how one looked at it, this wasn’t something that was normal. This wasn’t even something that was abnormal.

This was just a simple disaster.

The spider hero unit was the only one that actually did anything since it was the only one that was controlling those spiders. After all, those spiders came from the spider hero unit in the first place.

As long as it had mana, it would be able to give birth to these spiders and send them out.

But now that there were all of these flaming rats, it really was hard for the spider hero unit to keep up. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before it ran out of mana.

It really didn’t seem like this was something that could be maintained.

So the spider hero unit looked like it was about to set out itself.

It seemed like the only way to take care of these flaming rats was for the spider hero unit to fight.

As a hero unit, it wasn’t just limited to having the ability to create webs and spiders. It naturally had other powerful abilities, which would allow it to take care of these flaming rats if it used them.

Only the dungeon core said, “Stop, don’t go yet.”

The spider hero unit was confused when it heard this, but the dungeon core was looking at something specific.

It wasn’t just the single dungeon core, it was all of the dungeon cores that noticed the same thing. They could tell that there was a flow to the flames, as if they were coming from something.

With the way that the flames flowed, it showed that the rats weren’t the ones that were controlling the flames.

Rather, there was something else that was controlling the flames that were surrounding the rats. The rats were just being used as a form of delivery system for the flames.

“Prepare all your defenses, they’ll be coming soon.”

The dungeon cores seemed to have given up the thought of fighting head on with whatever was about to come, they seemed like they just wanted to defend until the end.

That was because they had already contacted the ones that had already gone out on the hunt.

As long as they were able to hold out for long enough, the ones that were out there would come back and support them. So all that was needed was to wait this out.

But there was this large burst of flames that came from the center of the pack of flaming rats.

These flames were just too strong that the spiders weren’t able to hold out at all and even the surveillance was knocked out in the end.

Bitter looks appeared on the faces of the dungeon cores as none of them understood what was happening. Not a single one of them could understand how this was happening to them right now.

In the end, they just completely blocked off all the entrances to this room.

Only…

The spider hero unit suddenly turned to look at one of the entrances to this room with a serious look on its face. It seemed like it was getting ready for a fight with the way that it looked in that direction.

That was because flames were coming from the direction that it was looking in and burning all the webs that it had put there to block that entrance.

The flames quickly spread across the webs and it didn’t even hold for a minute before they all burned away.

Once the webs had been burned away, there were rats that started flooding into the room.

There was no hesitation at all from these rats as they flooded into the room. Even though it was clear that there was a powerful hero unit that was here, they didn’t seem to have any fear.

The only way that was possible was if there was something stronger backing them, or…they just had too low intelligence to process this. But if they had that little intelligence, then they wouldn’t be able to coordinate like this.

So what was guiding them?

“It seems that you’re out of options and now you’re just hiding here?” A voice rang out through the air.

All of the dungeon cores immediately knitted their brows when they heard this.

This was a voice that they certainly didn’t expect to hear.

After all, this was the voice of someone that they had looked down on. But even before that, they knew that this person shouldn’t have been able to participate in the dungeon battle.

This was the person that had been with Rokuko, the one that they hated for being close to their Big Sister Haku.

When they looked over, they found Lin Fan standing there.

“This…You’re breaking the rules of the dungeon battle! How can you be here?” The dungeon cores immediately accused Lin Fan of breaking the rules, but they knew deep down that this wasn’t the case.

After all, if Lin Fan had broken the rules, the dungeon battle would have ended and they would have won already.

So the fact that he was standing there was more than enough to show that he hadn’t broken any rules at all.

Only how was this possible?

“Is that all you have to say?” Lin Fan asked with a smile, but he didn’t give them a chance to respond.

Instead, Lin Fan snapped his fingers and the flames that were around him suddenly turned into black flames. These black flames covered the rats and the rats charged forward at the spider hero unit.

The spider hero unit immediately started to panic when it saw this and it did what it could, but it found that these black flames were much stronger than before. No matter how the spider hero unit tried to defend against these black flames, it found that everything was futile.

It seemed that its webs just burned away the moment that they even came close to the black flames.

No matter how it tried, the spider hero unit just wasn’t able to do a single thing to fight back.

In the end, it had no choice but to rely on its final weapon.

A spray of green liquid came out from the mouth of the spider hero unit that was aimed right at Lin Fan.

Only before it could reach him, there was a ball of water that appeared that trapped that spray of green liquid. It didn’t dissolve it, it just completely trapped it and the green liquid couldn’t do anything to the water around it.
