Under the rubble of what remained of the capital's core, the rebel survivors, and former members of the royalty, surrendered before Minos' first invasion, stood in a pattern, leading to Uzira's new throne.
Men and women of different races, Hell Lifelings, undead, Hell guardians and various others, organized themselves to make way for Mylecent to pass.
Next to the new local throne, Minos, his wives, and Ysolt positioned themselves from where they could see the whole city, the locals applauding as the woman with long white hair, almost 2 meters tall, dressed in her war gear, passed along the path to her throne.
As she listened to the applause, words of congratulations on her victory after so long fighting against her family, she had a broad smile on her face, showing her perfect teeth as she emanated power.
She had dreamed of the day when she would be in this situation countless times while imprisoned in the prison that Minos had freed her from. She had long since thought of the day when she would get everything she wanted.
Now she didn't know if she had gotten everything her heart had ever desired, but she was one step closer to getting everything she could have.
Climbing the final rubble to her throne, she waved to her longtime friend, Ysolt, before focusing on Minos, the one responsible for everything that was happening to her. And it was precisely he who was with a black crown-the crown of the local royal family- waiting to crown her in front of the survivors and locals.
"You are now the sovereign queen of Uzira. Take good care of this place. I hope my family and guild grow a lot under your care," Minos said as he placed the symbolic crown on Mylecent's head. He was with a tranquil look on his face that spoke of his peace of mind in leaving everything to her.
Mylecent nodded as she murmured just for Minos to hear, "I can do that and much more for you."
Minos understood the implicit meaning of her words and smiled back at this woman's flirtation. "I'm looking forward to that day. But I'm afraid we're both too busy for that right now."
"As long as you don't forget your earlier promise, we'll be fine." She kept her eyes on him, her back to the people waiting for her first words as queen.
He promised, "Don't worry. Go on with your plans and fulfill the mission I left you. One day, we'll have peace to be with each other."
She trusted him without further question, finally turning to face her new subjects. They were weakened people in need of a strong and decisive leader.
"People of Uzira..." She began, speaking loudly so that the entire city could hear, while her closest allies and companions stood silently beside her, giving her the space to speak as much as she wanted.
But Minos and his women paid little attention to Mylecent's words. Through their mental connections, they talked to each other at this important moment in Uzira's history.
'We're leaving tomorrow. We'll return to the guild's headquarters later and then we'll define the group that will head back to the planet of the Divine Dragons with us, Minos said in response to his wives' questions and doubts. 'After passing through the Seraphim Dimension, we'll head for the first planet where Forfex might be!
The three women nodded in silence, looking at their surroundings and seeing their last moments not only in Uzira but also in Zocarro.
In their minds, there was no going back to this world. Their current journey would end with their deaths or Minos' advance to the Upper Realm. In either case, their destiny no longer lay in Zocarro-the place that had been their home for the longest time in their lives.
With Mylecent's coronation ceremony over, they would meet with the leader of the rebel force and the surrendered men of the royal family for their last conversation. The Hell Lifelings had their freedoms and could choose to stay with Mylecent, go to the Armhands, or even set up their own forces, under royal authorization, of course. The undead disappeared after their bodies lost their elements, while the Hell guardians of Mylecent left to wait for new signals.
The locals were still collecting bodies, cleaning up the combat center, when Minos and his women said goodbye, taking one last good look at their friends and allies.
Before leaving, Minos said to Mylecent, "Take advantage of the next few days to organize the continent and a new government. But don't delay returning to the Hell. The domains that belonged to Eternal Death are now free for new competitors."
"I'll be back as soon as possible."
"Good. Don't forget the person I told you about, and good luck."
Minos distorted the space a few meters above the capital, disappearing from there while still being watched by Mylecent, Ysolt and at least a hundred high-level Supremes.
"Sigh! He's finally gone..." Ysolt sighed, still worried about the future she had predicted long ago, but which didn't seem to be getting any closer to the realization. "When will we see him again?"
Mylecent couldn't see the future, but she understood things that her seer couldn't without being part of the Hell, "There's a war coming, Ysolt," she said as she looked at her friend seriously, her fists clenched tightly. "I have a feeling we'll be hearing from them a lot sooner than we thought."
"You speak of the Hell?"
"I'm afraid I'm going to become a double agent," Mylecent said in a strange tone. "What is there for a Devil interested in a future Entitled Deity?"
"Chaos."
That was all Ysolt could think about as she looked back to where Minos had left, no longer able to see anything about his future, nor that of his women, nor even
Mylecent.
'Now all I can do is watch as a distant spectator... Good luck, Minos. I hope you succeed and that what I predicted earlier comes to pass.
While Ysolt wished for something beyond her control or influence, Minos and his women finished crossing space, returning to the vicinity of Armhands' headquarters. The journey for them would hardly be a long one with the group members' current powers. They soon left the distorted path of space, visualizing where their families, friends and subordinates were waiting for their return.
But even though they were geographically distant from Mylecent and Ysolt, Minos had the same thing in mind as the two of them.
'We will meet again soon. The war of the two dimensions is approaching faster than I'd like!' He led his women, not sharing all his worries with them.
'I just hope you all strengthen yourselves once more before time runs out. His thoughts moved not only to Mylecent and his wives but also to his family members, allies and, ultimately, Vicente Fuller.
'The time is coming for me to use all my cards!"
