Chapter 394 - 394: Promoting the opening

Michael visited the construction of the roller coaster every single day. He was there, personally helping the construction workers install the foundation pillars into the ground, giving his blood, sweat, and tears for the project.

Some would say that he was being a good leader of Reborn. Others, like his mother and the girls, would say that he was just escaping the punishment of their game. Whose to say which one was true.

But in all honesty, he really did want to get his hands dirty this time around. After all the high-stakes fighting that happened with the Bastard Bandits and Blazelle, he needed to just turn off his mind and work with his hands.

It was also a good time for him to connect with the Rebornian construction workers who had been the backbone of progress in this nation. Without them, they wouldn’t be able to expand their territory so fast in just two years, coming up on three.

And thanks to the new recruits, the reformed Bastard Bandits, there were a lot of new handymen ready to serve Reborn through back-breaking work.

After being captured in prison, these bandits quickly adjusted to a life of becoming a Rebornian. Sleazy and DeathClaw led the charge, guiding bandits into the right path. Having the found of the Bastard Bandits personally gush about his dreams of becoming a real Rebornian really helped the other bandits to accept their new identity.

Because of that, the Centaur police didn’t have much of a problem taking so many bandits in the prison.

Those that exhibited good behavior were given the chance to work as a construction worker for Reborn in exchange for a reduced sentence.

It would be such a waste to have perfectly healthy 4-star realm bandits sitting in prison doing nothing. Their talents could be used to help lessen the burden of Reborn.

That was why so many of the construction workers working alongside him in the roller coaster wore orange jumpsuits.

“I’m so excited!” Vivi said, kicking her feet in the air. “The roller coaster is almost finished!”

They both looked on at the large mound of pillars in the ground. They formed a stable foundation for the railings on top that wound up and down, twisting and turning, to give an exhilarating experience for anyone that rode it.

She and the other Fairies were a big help in completing the construction in record time. The two week estimated time of completion was slashed down to just one week.

Tomorrow would be their last day.

“It all went by so fast,” he muttered. “Though, I wish it would be longer.”

Vivi punched his shoulder. “You’re only saying that because you won’t have an excuse to avoid your punishment!”

Since this roller coaster was so important to Vivi and the other Fairies, the girls team all decided to let Michael delay his punishment for now until the construction was finished.

Once it was over, he would be free game for Lylia and the others.

Michael dreaded the day. “Should I destroy this roller coaster and do it all over again, sisyphus style?” he muttered to himself, seriously tempted.

On the next day, at the very zenith of noon, the construction workers welded the very last touches for the roller coaster.

Then, it was done!

“Yipee!” Vivi cheered, with the other Fairies shouting just beside her.

“It’s not done yet,” he said to her. “We still need to do some tests to see if it’s up to our safety standard.”

“Who cares about that! Just open it up to the public!” Vivi argued.

Michael shook his head. “It’ll only take just one more day or a few hours at least. And besides, we have already scheduled the grand opening to be for tomorrow.”

Speaking of which, he wanted to check in on Castelle and Sheina about that.

So, he quickly transported himself to their headquarters in Angora City to meet with his secretary and his CEO. As he entered the meeting room, he saw Sheina, Castelle, and Jimmy.

“How’s the promotion going?” he asked them.

“Young Master. Jimmy has already made a very compelling first-page news article about our new roller coaster ride.”

Jimmy, the news correspondent for Reborn, quickly slammed down his copy of the article on the table.

“Don’t worry, Michael, and take a look at what I wrote!”

Michael read the paper and nodded in satisfaction. The content of the article was both an advertisement and a challenge.

Instead of writing a boring description of the roller coaster, Jimmy basically told the readers that they wouldn’t be able to ride this attraction without passing out at the end.

This was enough bait to lure out all the adventurous people out there to try and disprove what was written in the article.

“This is good, Jimmy. Publish this and send it out everywhere.”

Jimmy flashed a big smile on his face and saluted at Michael before rushing out of the room.

Since this was the first ‘attraction’ for the Nation of Reborn, Michael didn’t skimp on promoting the roller coaster and spent a lot of money for newspapers to print advertisements on the front page.

Angora City, the Grafted Cluster, Neo Orcus, and even the entirety of the Kings region. They had been the target of campaigns inviting them all to visit the new attraction in the Nation of Reborn. In every corner of every street, people could find posters of the roller coaster in the Nation of Reborn.

“Lord Michael, our Low Shadows have been hearing a lot of chatter about wanting to go. However, their budget is tight and they find it hard to pay for the transportation alone,” Sheina said.

“Here’s what you do. Make a limited event on all Reborn Taxis and train rides. 50% off on fares going to the Nation of Reborn.

Make sure that you also send out Rebornian tourist guides in every city. They’ll be offering an all-expense paid trip to the Parched Lands for an entire week, for a discounted price.”

Sheina and Castelle both widened their eyes, amazed at Michael’s ingenuity when it came to business.

“I shall make sure that this is done,” Castelle said, bowing.

“Oh, and since they’ll be visiting the Parched Lands anyway, start a festival in our Nation. This will also serve as our celebration for our victory in the East forest.

I know that it’s late notice, but can you do it?” he asked them.

Sheina and Castelle seemed offended that Michael would even ask. They quickly left the meeting room, with eyes of determination on their faces. They didn’t deserve to be Michael’s helpers if they couldn’t cobble up a nationwide festival in 24 hours.

After the meeting was over, Michael was left all alone in the room. He did feel a little bit guilty that he put all of the burden on them. Just a little bit. Of course, he did have a lazy bone in his body.

“Michael dear? Are you there? It’s been a while since you and Yuna talked. It’s not good to leave a lady waiting like that, you know? Should I invite her over here?”

As Lylia opened the door, she saw that the room was completely empty. But, the chair did topple over, as if someone was just there and had quickly left the room.
