A tough decision needed to be made in Kai’s mind, on what was the best option, what was the best for the Howler gang. Being in the city and with how things were going, Kai could already see it, the collapse of the Altered hunters was happening right here and now.

They had to get Blake and Innu out of this situation because there no longer would be an Altered hunters for them to get back to, but with everything going on, and with what was in front of him, maybe he could make an opportunity from the situation.

To weaken the power of the enemy was right in front of him. That was what he had decided, he had decided he had done all of this, to weaken the power of the enemy, that was the only reason.

Rushing to the Garden they had gotten there as quick as they could. As soon as he entered the garden he was quick with his sense of smell and nose. Blood filled the air in a particular area so they weren’t hard to find.

Right after he transformed into his wolf form and sprinted to the location that was needed. While in his wolf form, he could see them up ahead, and the shortest route there was through the water.

Kai didn’t know what was going to happen, but he had an idea as he decided to run across. His footsteps across the water were freezing over, giving him more of a platform to run across.

He ran and ran, and hurled himself forward attacking the Werewolf right in the air. That was the moment that Kim had spotted him. She had no idea who this giant wolf was, until he started to transform back into a human.

And she could see, it was the new young apprentice that had joined them. At this moment, he had come, and instead of thinking of him as a newbie, she had decided to use his name.

“Kai…” Trixie said.

The moment he was transformed, the other Werewolf that had yet to move went in to attack him. Kai quickly moved back, and the claw had avoided him completely. With his hand he grabbed the back of the Werewolf’s head and slammed it right into the floor.

With his foot, he then forced it kicking right at the back of the neck of the Werewolf hearing a loud crack and clicking sound, the Werewolf’s body was no longer moving.

“Why…why are you here?” Trixie said her face filled with tears.

Her emotions were high after everything she had seen and everything that was going to happen to her. She even believed that this was the end of her life. She just wanted to at least take down those that took her allies.

But now, Kai had appeared right in front of her.

“I have questions…” Kai said. “I don’t understand, even though you think I’m an Altered, you told me to go. You knew what was going to happen, because of you, I got out of that situation pretty easily, so this is me returning the favour.”

Kai looked around and could see all of the other hunters on the ground dead. Some of them that had bared their teeth towards him, ready to take him out at the drop of a hat.

“I’m sorry I didn’t come earlier…I had my own problems to deal with.” Kai said.

Although Trixie felt like this man had no reason to apologise, it was them that chased him away. One of the many thoughts she had during the fighting, was what if Kai was by their side while they were being attacked.

If he was maybe they would’ve had a chance, and now he was here.

“I see…so it looks like the Howlers have decided to join this mess.” Ivy said. “You are part of that pack. Let me see considering how she is here as well, is it some type of deal you guys have set up?”

“No!” Kai said as he swung his arm out. “We aren’t working with them! I’m just doing my own thing!”

The words spoken by Kai could of course be heard by Kim with her hearing, and glancing over she could see a particular person had come in.

“What does he think he’s doing.” Kim muttered under her voice. “Does he think we need his help, does he think him coming here changes anything!”

Kim said as she threw a punch but it had hit nothing, as Broodie jumped back. The moment he jumped back though, he could see something falling through the air.

A heavy fist landed hitting the center of the shield and breaking the floorboards beneath his feet sinking him down to the water right below. Jumping back Kim could see another Werewolf landing on the wooden platform.

‘Another one…but why are they fighting each other, unless he’s an ally of one of the Howlers…damn all these people coming here and messing things up!’ Kim thought.

A short while after and jumping back out of the water on the bridge Broodie held his shield and shook his fur trying to get rid of a large part of the excess water.

“What’s this, I never thought I would see you again?” Broodie said as he looked directly at Midwak. “I had heard some of the rumours that you were following Ylva around but I didn’t see it myself.”

Broodie sniffed the air a few times.

“But I can see you joined another pack, I guess you were never to be trusted in the first place, but do you really think you can win this fight against me!” Broodie claimed as he held the shield in his hand. “You were skilful in the past, but we Ironfang’s long surpassed you, and we now have some of the strongest weapons in the world, in our hands!”

Midwak just smiled as he twisted his head from side to side.

“I think, it’s all of you, that are underestimating the Howlers!”
