The words from Broodie were being heard by Trixie, but she wasn’t so sure if she could follow, she wasn’t even sure if she should be listening in the first place. Because after all, this was the enemy.

Surely the enemy would say anything to confuse her mind. To plant doubts in her head.

“You are fighting by the side of a monster and you didn’t even know it?” Broodie said again. “I have to say that I’m not too surprised, but look at her?”

Kim had taken the strange shield out from her stomach, and was holding it in one hand. The wound around her stomach had little blood, but part of her muscular flesh could be seen and yet she was standing there, as if she wasn’t hurt at all.

This was the reason why, Trixie was somewhat listening to Broodie’s words, because it wasn’t the first time she had noticed something strange. That there was no action at all when hurt, and the enormous amount of strength that she was able to carry.

“She doesn’t even flinch right? That’s not exactly a trait of a human.” Broodie claimed. “What you have right in front of you, I have no doubt in my mind, that she’s a Wight. A creature of the undead that are related to them.

“You Altered hunters try to get rid of us, just because we are different, when these things, in order to survive, in order to heal, they consume human flesh, that is the type of monster that you are dealing with!”

Kim had heard enough, as she charged forward and then swung the belled shield she held in her hand. Broodie’s large slender fingers were able to grab the shield in place, and then with his other hand he went to claw right at her stomach.

She had no choice but to let go and jump back in that moment. Broodie readjusted the shield so it was back firmly in his hand in place and was ready to continue the assault.

“We were trained to get rid of your leaders!” Broodie said as he swung the shield and claw into Kim.

The surface of the shield banged right into her side, although she felt no pain, her body was being flung about all over the place from the powerful strikes.

“You are not one of the leaders, they sent far too little to get rid of us!” Broodie said as he lifted the shield, ready to bang it right on top of Kim’s arms.

Even if she did block it with her arms the shield would slice right through. In the middle of his downward swing, Trixie was in the air and thrusted her needle weapon. It blasted out with a powerful force hitting both of his forearms. It had stabbed his skin hurting it only slightly but the force had shifted Broodie’s arms so it hit to the side of Kim instead.

Broodie quickly jumped back as he saw the second woman intervene.

“So you’ve decided to go against your own beliefs in the end. I guess it’s typical when you see such a powerful enemy in front of you.”

“Kim, I don’t know if what he said was true or not, but right now we need to fight side by side.” Trixie claimed. “I have so many questions I want to ask you but now’s not the time.”

The biggest question that was on Trixie’s mind, was if she really was this type of creature, then why did she out Kai back then. Kai, might have been an Altered a monster or whatever these are, but he had fought against the Lupus group with full force, Trixie had seen that, so just what was going on.

Regardless the two of them charged forward from both sides, Kim using her fist to try get a clean hit on Broodie, and Trixie using her special weapon on the other end. Most of the large hits could be blocked by his shield.

However Broodie was finding it difficult with the Altered weapon. Sometimes he could knock it away with his hand or his claw, but other times he would get hit and stabbed. The attacks building up on him, creating small blood marks that were soaking his fur.

“This is getting seriously annoying!” Broodie said as he swung the shield wide sideways aiming to get both of them in one. The two of them ducked and rolled their separate ways.

Kim was facing toward Broodie now, while Trixie was towards his back, she had the view of the rest of the bridge where the other Altered hunters were fighting.

‘They seem to be holding up, even with the surprise entrance of more Altereds…if we take him out quick enough, then we can go ahead and help them out.’

This was the thought, until she saw something that had sunk her heart. Coming out of the Garden from the very other end were even more Werewolves. There seemed to be around six of them with their arms by their side running at a fast speed.

“No…no not more…they already reached their max, they already have pushed themselves beyond what they can…but I can’t leave here either, if I do, the Ironfang will definitely defeat Kim!”

Trixie was deeply in two minds about what she wanted to do, and in the middle of it, all she saw a woman, holding onto a green weapon. She had partial fur growing up the side of her arms and her face, not having fully transformed.

She leapt from the forest, and swung her sword which stretched out. The added force made it come out like a whip, as it struck an Altered hunter right down the center line of its face.

It had split the hunter in half killing them instantly.

“NOOOO!” Trixie screamed at the top of her lungs as she saw this, but even more so knew the terror that was waiting for them. Because this was another Ironfang, the Ironfang known as Ivy.
