Chapter 1855: Not Here For Me

Grey and the man left the Town, heading straight for the Tribe. According to the map with Grey, they would pass by one more place where the core is located on the way to the Tribe, so he did not have any issues with traveling with the man. Being faster, he picked up the man and used his wind element to take them in the direction of the Tribe. It was naturally impossible for Grey to take him all the way to the Tribe in this manner. The reason Grey even did this was to make sure they left this place as soon as possible. Whenever he travels past Cities with Ninth stage or Peak Sovereigns, he always makes sure he does not hang around for too long, lest he attracts their attention.

On the way, the man introduced himself and his Tribe to Grey. The man’s name was Cormac from the Vallarian Tribe, and he was not just his Tribe’s only Arraymaster, he was also one of the strongest experts in the Tribe. Once anyone from the Vallarian Tribe gets to the Sovereign Plane, their cultivation slows down to a shocking level. At the moment, the Vallarian Tribe only has three Sixth stage Sovereigns including Cormac.

Thinking about the McCall Family, Grey felt the Vallarian Tribe had it better, after all, they at least had Sovereigns. The once mighty McCall Family was reduced to such a level after only a few thousand years or so, which showed just how devastating this technique eventually grows to.

From what Grey could tell, he knew that these things were placed in these Forces. In fact, taking a closer look at the way the cores were positioned in the large map, he realized that it somewhat looked like a giant array formation. He did know what purpose this formation was meant for, but given the damage it was causing to so many people, he could tell that it was nothing good. Of course, he’s more interested in the cores. The energy it possesses is tremendous, there is a lot he could do with these cores.

Two weeks went by in a flash.

After leaving the region Grey met Cormac, he stopped carrying the latter as it was stressful on him. The duo moved quickly, and in these two weeks, they had not encountered anyone from the Twilight Faction, and the reason for this was surprisingly Cormac.

Cormac knew about the presence of the two experts from the Twilight Faction, and he had also heard about the youth the Twilight Faction wanted to apprehend and had been spending a lot of effort in searching for him over the past few months. He guessed from how Grey only snuck into the Manor when the duo left that he was most likely the one they were searching for. Knowing Grey is not just his only hope, but also the Vallarian Tribe’s only hope of breaking off the link to the core in the Tribe, he did not dare to be careless. Unlike Grey he is familiar with the Twilight Faction’s influence of power throughout the world, he might be from a small Tribe, but he was a top Arraymaster who also turns out to be a Sixth stage Sovereign, so he knew more than the average Elementalist in this world.

With his help, the duo did not encounter anyone from the Twilight Faction over these two weeks, nor did they encounter any dangers. It was almost as if he knew the path like the back of his hand, and Grey, being the cautious person he is, did not forget to occasionally use the map to ensure they were going in the right direction. He already knew which area the Twilight Faction is located, and luckily, during his search he did not need to go too close to where the Twilight Faction was located.

On this day after two weeks of traveling, Grey finally slowed down. He was getting close to where the red dot before the Vallarian Tribe is located. He slowed down because compared to the rest of the forest they were currently traveling through, he could sense activity ahead of him, a lot of activities to be precise. This is something he did not expect, any place like this that has been found in forests like these are usually abandoned, and even when they are not, there usually isn’t too many people.

“Do you know if anything is happening ahead?” Grey turned to ask Cormac.

Cormac shook his head, oblivious to what might be happening ahead.

Grey frowned, not sure of what was happening. He was not stopping because he was afraid, rather, he liked being cautious, especially when being hunted down by such a powerful Faction like the Twilight Faction. If the Bunny Leader were present, he would not need to be this careful since the former would have been able to easily scout ahead with Bunnies under his control.

‘Void, can you see if there are any top experts further ahead?’

Void is very small, and Grey was confident in his concealment ability.

Void had not been with Grey through the journey, but after hearing Grey’s question, he appeared, shocking Cormac.

After Void appeared, he disappeared almost immediately, making Cormac rub his eyes to ensure he was not seeing things.

“Did you see that small black cat just now?” He could not help but ask, trying to see if it was just him hallucinating.

“Void? He’s helping, don’t bother about him.” Grey did not try to explain to Cormac. He walked to the side to take a sit while he waited for Void to return.

Cormac wanted to ask about Void, but seeing Grey sit and shutting his eyes right after he answered him, he could only shut his mouth. During the journey, he already knew Grey did not like talking too much. Although Grey is younger than he was, he did not dare to be disrespectful. Even if Grey could not help with his Tribe’s troubles, he was still a genuine powerhouse that the Twilight Faction is willing to send two Ninth stage Sovereigns to try to intercept him, which proved that he was no weaker than a Ninth stage Sovereign. If he knew that the duo he sensed were Peak Sovereigns and not Ninth stage Sovereigns, he would be shocked beyond words.

Being a powerhouse equivalent to a Ninth stage Sovereign meant that Grey was stronger than him, which automatically makes him inferior to Grey even though he’s a few hundreds if not even over a thousand years older than Grey. He had tried sensing Grey’s aura, but he could not sense Grey’s depths, which is one of the reasons he believed he was a Ninth stage Sovereign.

He sat down quietly and waited.

An hour later, Void returned.

Opening his eyes, Grey nodded to Void before shaking his head in frustration, muttering to himself, “How did the Twilight Faction gather so many people here?”

Cormac, overhearing Grey’s words suddenly froze in fright, he knew how powerful the Twilight Faction was, and traveling with Grey would not be something the Twilight Faction would take lightly. Given how the Twilight Faction operates, the chances that he would end up dead is very high.

“Are you saying members of the Twilight Faction are here?” He asked while gulping down his saliva.

“A few of them, but I don’t think they came here for me.” Grey replied after a short silence.

The reason he made his first statement was because Void told him about how many people were present there, and from what he could tell from Void’s words, there were a few Factions that would not normally work for the Twilight Faction. If his guess was not wrong, there is another reason entirely these people came here.

“Oh, they are not here for Little Friend?” Cormac heaved a sigh when he heard this. If these people were not here for them, then they still had the chance to avoid them.

“Seems like it.” Grey felt more and more sure that this was the case because Void made no mention of any Peak Sovereigns, but there were a few Ninth stage Sovereigns.

If it was just Ninth stage Sovereigns, then he did not have to worry about them being a problem. Although he could not defeat multiple Ninth Sovereigns at the moment, he had no issues with escaping if trapped. Besides, he did not have to deal with all the Ninth stage Sovereigns present there, only a few of them.

Grey’s frown disappeared as a smile appeared on his face. This was a good opportunity for him to deal a blow to Twilight Faction. He has always been one who took revenge for any grievances, and since the entire Twilight Faction upper echelon thought they could hunt him down for months without him retaliating, then they are in for a surprise. Although he has killed a few, he always doesn’t go too extreme.
